Hódmezővásárhely

This lovely little (big) town in the south eastern region of Hungary is very peaceful. It has the title of "slow city". We have different nationalities of tourist groups, who came to take ideas of how to make their home town a more peaceful place. We wrote big town in brackets at the beginning, because the land, which is under the authorization of Hódmezővásárhely including the fields of the smaller villages around the town is the second largest in Hungary after Budapest. It is small, because of the population is only around 50 000.

During our tours you will be able to see the main square of the town with its history, told by our guide, and you could visit a workshop of a local pottery master. We hope you will enjoy the tour which would introduce you to the old lifestyle of the agricultural part of Hungary. We will visit a mid 19th century peasant house in which you could see old tools used by Hungarians in the late 19th and in the early 20th century.
